Hello again - I hope that all of you are staying safe.
A key feature of this resource is a library of “Quicktools” - hacks that real, working lawyers can use to solve real-world problems.
As a working lawyer of now 25 years (26 in a week), I have often found that the tool I need is 10-20% better than the tool I have. The practice management software really ought to do X, but it does A-Q and sometimes W on alternate Tuesdays. The bank’s website provides just enough data to keep escrow account management a chore. You need a checklist more than you need to read a rule, but where can one get a checklist?
What we need is a “hack” - an elegant, good-enough improvement - and so WS will hold a repository of the best hacks from around the internet. Some will be Maryland-specific but most will aim to be useful to any working attorney. Some will be downloads stored on www.workingScribe.com; others will be blog posts from the Bar, resources like Lifehacker. Some will come from readers and fans of the site, I am certain.
Stay tuned this week for the first two WS hacks - a simple volume caseload manager, and an escrow account reconciler.
